About Dhammasugandha VipassanaCenter, Bhose near Miraj, Sangli
Dhammasugandha (Fragrance of Dhamma) is a new Vipassana center coming up on 4.25 acres of land at the base of Dandoba Forest Sanctuary hills surrounded by forest land on three sides.
The center is located near Bhose village on Miraj – Pandharpur highway about 20 km from Miraj Railway station in Sangli District in the state of Maharashtra.
All statutory Government compliances for the center development activities are complete. Till permanent facilities are ready, temporary facilities for the residential dormitory, Dhamma Hall, and Kitchen and dining areas for single-gender courses for about 20 students have been put up since Jan 2017.
One-day/Two-day courses have already started. One or more 10-day courses are being held every month from June 2017.
In Phase, I, the construction work of the main & mini Dhamma halls, Residential quarters for 40 students, Dhamma servers & Teachers’ rooms are completed.
In Phase II, additional residential quarters for 60 students/ Dhamma servers, administration/Kitchen & dining buildings, and staff quarters are planned.
In Phase III, Pagoda construction will be taken up The Dhammasugandha Centre when fully completed will have a capacity for 40 Female & 60 male students with separate facilities for one day & children’s courses.
HOW TO REACH THE CENTER:
Dhammasungadha Vipassana Center is located in a hilly area about 2.5 KM walking distance from Bhose Yallamma temple which is 18 KM from Miraj on Miraj – Pandharpur road. You can reach the center by your own car or two-wheeler or take public transport

1 Arrive at Miraj ( Not Sangli if you are coming from Puneside)
2. From the Miraj bus stand: Catch the service bus for Kavathe Mahankal/Jat and get down at Bhose Yallamma temple. (Do not take the city bus going to Bhose or get down at Bhose Phata)
3 From Miraj Mission Hospital Chowk: Shared vehicle services are available to Yallama temple.
4 From Pandharpur side: The request stop is Bhose Yallama temple.

The Parami Of Generosity
According to the pure tradition of Vipassana, Vipassana courses are open to one and all without any restrictions of cast, creed, religion, nationality, or gender. The courses are run solely on the basis of freely offered donations from students who have completed at least one ten-day Vipassana course with Shri S.N. Goenka or one of his assisting teachers.
These old students, with volition to share the benefits they have received & to strengthen their parami of generosity, offer donations for future courses. There is no wealthy foundation or individual sponsoring Vipassana centers, its activities, or courses and there is no government funding.
All activities for the spread of Vipassana teaching are carried out with purity of purpose, free from any commercialism or financial benefits to any individual. No fee is charged for the courses. The courses & center activities are financed totally from the donations received from the old students. Neither the Teacher nor the Assistant Teachers receive any remuneration. The teachers and those who serve the courses as Dhamma Servers, volunteer their time & selfless service with gratitude, solely motivated by the benefits they have got from Vipassana Mediation.
Students may avail the opportunity to earn paramis by:
- Donating in cash, cheque, Demand Draft, Online Payments, NEFT, etc.
- Donating in kind (after duly checking with the Centre Management if there is a need)
- Offering Dhamma Service
- Meditating on the Dhamma land whenever possible
Note: The Sangli Vipassana Mediation Centre (SVMC) is registered with the Income tax department (PAN No: AAOTS4246C) to accept donations (12 AA Approval) & Charity Commission of the Government of Maharashtra as a Charitable trust.
All Donations are eligible for a 50% tax exception under section 80G of the I.T. Act. Cheques or DDs may be addressed favoring “Sangli Vipassana Meditation Centre”.

How donations are used:
